Voters Block and Mills at High Falls aid in revitalizing city neighborhoods

The Rochester City Council recently held its biennial Organizational Meeting.

While this meeting marks the start of a new council cycle, it also offers council an opportunity to reflect on the initiatives and goals it has accomplished during the past two years.

Council has been determined to develop a good working relationship with the Rochester School District to increase positive outcomes for students.  This initiative has included re-establishing a series of regular meetings between members of the council and the Board of Education.  These helped change the district's busing policy, creating safer passage for students at the Liberty Pole, and may be a source of further cost-saving measures and consolidations.
